Spa Master Bathroom
Oak Vanity and Ceramic Shower.
Luxury master bathroom renovation in Mississauga featuring large-format Calacatta marble porcelain floor, natural oak double vanity with marble quartz countertop, handmade-look ceramic shower tile, freestanding soaker tub, arched gold mirrors, and gold fixtures throughout.
About This Project
This is a master bathroom built around two things: natural materials and light. The entire room is white and warm oak, with large-format Calacatta marble porcelain running across the floor and the shower ceramic bringing texture without introducing colour. The effect is a room that feels airy and generous regardless of its actual square footage — calm, spa-like, and designed to look current ten years from now without relying on a trend that will date it.
The Double Vanity
The natural oak double vanity runs the full length of the wall. White oak in a flat-panel shaker profile with gold knob hardware keeps it in the current wave of warm-material bathrooms without being derivative. The marble-look quartz countertop with its soft grey veining ties back to the Calacatta floor without being identical. Two arched gold-framed mirrors sit above it, each with a gold bar sconce that casts warm directed light at the face rather than the cold overhead wash that built-in pot lights alone produce. Chrome single-lever faucets at each sink keep the fixture selection practical and easy to service.
The Shower
The frameless glass shower enclosure takes up the back corner of the room. The tile inside is a handmade-look square ceramic in soft sage grey, stacked in a straight vertical pattern rather than an offset brick. This tile has the variation in surface and tone that characterises handmade or zellige-style ceramics — each piece is slightly different, which gives the shower wall a depth that a standard tile cannot replicate at any size. Recessed niche built flush into the tile wall. Chrome rain head and handheld, chrome slide bar. The Wedi Pro waterproofing assembly covers the full shower enclosure and the homeowners have a written 10-year waterproofing warranty.
The Freestanding Tub
The freestanding soaker tub sits between the shower and the vanity wall, positioned to be visible from the doorway. A small round side table keeps toiletries within reach without breaking the clean lines of the space. Chrome floor-mount faucet with a simple gooseneck profile. The Calacatta marble floor under the tub area is where the tile selection pays off most — the large format with its minimal grout joints makes the zone feel like a destination rather than an afterthought.
