About This Project

Not every project is a gut renovation with structural work and a months-long schedule. Some of the best results we deliver are simpler in scope but equally demanding in execution. This washroom was functional but dated original finishes that had run their course. The homeowners wanted it completely redone. Demo, new substrate, waterproofing, tile from floor to ceiling, new fixtures. Done properly.

The substrate work came first. What was behind the existing tile told us what we were working with. Wall assemblies were addressed, the subfloor was prepared to the flatness required, and the Wedi Pro waterproofing system was applied across all wet areas before any tile went down. This is the part of the job that is completely invisible once the project is finished, but it is what determines whether the work holds up for five years or twenty.

Tile selection for a washroom is a different conversation than for a large master bathroom. The space is smaller, so the format, the layout direction, and the grout joint width all have a more pronounced effect on how the room feels. We worked with the homeowners to land on something clean and minimal that makes the space feel larger rather than busier. Everything was set to the same standard we apply on any project regardless of size.

Fixtures were installed once the tile was done, all transitions finished tight, and the room inspected before handover. The client received the standard 5-year workmanship warranty plus the manufacturer warranty on the Wedi waterproofing assembly.
